The New Canvas Gradebook, Presented by CCC Beta Testers

Learn about the New Gradebook from three beta testers in the California Community College system.
The session will include: 1) A demonstration of the New Gradebook & how to get started. 2) Beta testing results of the CCMS Gradebook Work Group & lessons learned. 3) An opportunity for participants who have used the New Gradebook to provide feedback. A Canvas representative will be available during the session to answer questions.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to know how to activate the new Gradebook, use the sort and filter tools, apply late or missing submission policies, customize Gradebook views, understand some of the glitches, and where to find help resources.

Liz du Plessis Instructional Designer, Distance Education Bio: Liz du Plessis is the Instructional Designer in Distance Education at Santa Rosa Junior College and a co-facilitator for @ONE courses. She holds a Master of Education degree and a Ph.D. in U.S. History. She has served as an I.D. inside and outside of higher education and as a History teacher (f2f, hybrid, and online). |
Sylvia Amito’elau Instructional Technology Designer
Bio: Sylvia Amito’elau is an instructional designer at Coastline College. She is a Canvas admin and trainer. Since 2002 she has been supporting faculty in the design, development, and delivery of online learning. She has been teaching CTE courses since 1996 in all modalities (f2f, hybrid, and online). She is a Peer Online Course Reviewer for the OEI. |
Wendy Bass Distance Education Coordinator Bio: Wendy Bass is the Distance Education Coordinator at Pierce College and co-chair of the CVC-OEI Consortium. Since 1998, she has taught traditional and online courses in psychology, education and child development. As DE Coordinator, she establishes campus-wide pedagogical standards and operational procedures for online instruction. |
