Description

Videos can be powerful tools in the classroom and enhance students’ understanding. Captioning provides access for all of your students. Comprehension takes more than just visuals! Research shows captions as reinforcement help students with understanding and focused attention. Captions are crucial for students whose English is their second language and students with disabilities.

This self-paced micro-course will introduce a range of captioning strategies, from doing it yourself to hiring a professional service provider, guiding you through effective pre-production lesson planning for videos to expedite the captioning workflow. Learn the basics of audio description, gain access to valuable resources to create quality captioning, and take all that you’ve learned and apply it to a hands-on activity that you can use in your course! your online material!
