Designed by faculty and staff, for faculty and staff.
@ONE offers a variety of free or low-cost professional development opportunities, whether you're interested in a quick webinar or workshop to improve your online course, or a certificate program designed to take your online course design or teaching practices to the next level. Our webinars, courses, and certificate programs draw from experienced online teachers and designers throughout the state, harnessing the energy, experience, and insights of the largest higher education system in the world.
If you're new to online teaching, developing your first online course, or integrating technology in your face-to-face classroom, dip your toe into the virtual pool by taking a short course or joining a webinar. Or, if your goal is an online teaching certificate, follow one of our certificate pathways to develop a course aligned to the OEI Course Design Rubric or learn more about the @ONE Quality Online Teaching Principles.
Overview of Online Courses & Webinars
@ONE offers free webinars and live online Canvas Q&A sessions, in addition to facilitated and self-paced online courses. Our certificate pathways are designed to allow you to tailor your professional development to your own needs, interests, and goals.
Free of cost. Direct to your desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone.
Our one-hour webinars allow participants across the state to share and learn from one another. Focused on emerging issues, best practices, and innovative use of technology, the webinars are offered free of cost, and presented at various days and times throughout the week.
Your course management system shouldn't be driving you crazy. Join us each week for a targeted micro-lesson on a Canvas tool, tip, or trick, followed by a 15-minute interactive Q&A. Bring your good ideas and your questions. We're here to help!
From our flagship 12-week course on online course design to our 1-week short courses, our facilitated courses combine cutting-edge research in online teaching with the opportunity to interact and learn with your peers from across the state.
Facilitated courses are asynchronous--you work at the time best for you--but include weekly due dates and requirements for interaction. Course work is designed to take approximately 10 hours per week, and includes graded assignments with feedback. Participants earn digital badges for successfully completing each course and have the option to earn continuing education credits.
Fees for facilitated courses are determined on a sliding scale:
|One Week Courses||Four Week Courses||Twelve Week Courses||Certificate Pathway|
|California Public Educators||$20||$65||$200||$150|
|Out-of-State or Private School Educators||$40||$130||$400||$300|
Optional Continuing Education Credits
@ONE has partnered with Fresno Pacific University to allow faculty and staff the opportunity to earn continuing education credits. Those interested will need to enroll for courses via @ONE, then apply for continuing education credits through Fresno Pacific.
Sometimes we just need the information--now. Many @ONE courses are available, free of charge, in a self-paced format. Self-paced courses are a great way to learn what you need, when you need it, but do not count toward the @ONE certificates or badges.
Our certificate pathways, designed around the OEI Online Course Design Rubric and the @ONE Quality Online Teaching Principles, provide a comprehensive foundation for improving the online teaching and learning experience for you and your students. Each certificate pathways allows participants to choose from a variety of one week and four week courses to create a custom experience to meet your needs and schedule.
