Reviewer & POCR Lead Resources

The release of the 2027 Online Course Design Rubric brings new opportunities for reviewer development, POCR Lead support, norming, and implementation planning.

To help colleges successfully transition to the updated rubric, a variety of professional development opportunities, implementation resources, and support materials will be available throughout the implementation period.

These resources are designed to support reviewers, POCR Leads, and institutions as they prepare for adoption of the 2027 Online Course Design Rubric and work toward consistent, meaningful, and high-quality course reviews.

POCR Reviewer Training Pathways

To support implementation of the 2027 Online Course Design Rubric, multiple reviewer training pathways will be available for both new and experienced reviewers.

These pathways are designed to help reviewers develop a shared understanding of the rubric, review expectations, and companion resources that support successful implementation.


New POCR Reviewers

Beginning in Fall 2026, individuals seeking POCR reviewer certification will complete an updated reviewer training aligned to the 2027 Online Course Design Rubric.

The redesigned training will incorporate:

  • New rubric structure
  • Revised review processes
  • New and expanded rubric elements
  • Updated examples and practice activities
  • Companion resources and implementation tools

POCR Leads will receive information regarding training dates, enrollment procedures, and reviewer recruitment.

Faculty interested in becoming POCR reviewers should contact their local POCR Lead for additional information about eligibility and enrollment opportunities.


Current POCR Reviewers

Current POCR-trained reviewers will not need to complete the full reviewer training again.

Instead, transition webinars will be offered to help reviewers become familiar with:

  • Companion resources and implementation tools

These sessions are designed to support a smooth transition from the current rubric to the 2027 CVC Course Design Rubric while recognizing the experience and expertise of existing reviewers.
